ALL ABOUT US

Naturally Pure is a small women-owned business with a heart for all things natural. We have a passion for creating and a mission to help moms -of any income- have access to quality natural products (without the nasty-but-still-technically-natural chemicals) for themselves and their little ones. Not everyone has the time to create their own natural and safe skin care products or the money to spend on brand names, but we believe that healthy skin shouldn’t be a privilege available to only those with higher incomes. While our prices aren’t that of the $1 Store, we’ve done everything we can to keep our costs low enough that when we label them as “affordable”, we mean it!

As for “safe” and “natural”, we’ve done the research to find which ingredients are necessary and removed the ones that aren’t. Cosmetics, including skin care, for both adults and infants are not highly regulated in the US which means big companies can get away with using preservatives such as Formaldehyde in their products as long as it’s listed on their ingredients label. Technically Formaldehyde can even be included in “all natural” products as well, since it’s a naturally occurring substance. We think this is disgusting and unacceptable, as is the use of sulfates, parabens, phthalates and synthetic dyes. These harmful chemicals (whether natural OR synthetic) will not be found in any of our products. We take care to buy all of our ingredients from verified safe suppliers and can provide SDS information for all of our ingredients upon request. Additionally, all of our essential oils are 100% pure and GC/MS tested by third party testers.

OUR FOUNDING SISTERS

We come from a huge family. Lots of siblings, steps, adopted, and in laws... meaning tons of nieces and nephews—which also means tons of babies! We discovered that even store bought natural products have more chemicals than we wanted for ourselves and our families. So began our searches for other avenues. After lots of researching and conversations with family and friends, we discovered we could make natural products ourselves and they could be just as effective as (if not more than) the store bought options.

Alexis is a mother of two who loves to explore the benefits of essential oils and nature in general. As she started her journey into motherhood she discovered (like so many of us) that a lot of people just want to throw chemicals at the problem, and often discount the good that nature can do.

Emily is a mother of two and has been a cosmetologist for 18 years. She’s been looking for an affordable natural line for a long time and has done multiple “natural” sales and MLMs, however, none of them ever felt right.

Lindsay is a mother of twins, and has a bachelor’s degree in business. Up until March 2021 she worked as a full time accountant, but decided to take a long term break to focus more on raising her toddlers. She has been obsessed with bath bombs since childhood and loves to share the fizzing balls of joy with her family.

BOMBS AWAY! BATH BOMBS

While looking at options for baby safe bath bombs, Lindsay noticed a huge lack of choices. Without much competition, companies are able to charge ridiculous prices and don’t have a lot of incentive to keep things actually safe. Having experimented with making bath bombs in the past, she decided to look into DIY baby safe recipes, especially since her littles love to drink their bath water! It started out a little complicated since babies’ skin is so sensitive, but after countless hours of research, testing a few recipes, and making a change or two with ratios, she came up with the perfect one.

Since “bath bombs for babies” isn’t as big of a market as typical bath bombs, we decided to create separate lines for infants/toddlers, kids, and preteens/teenagers/adults. All of our bombs use baking soda, citric acid, arrowroot powder, shea butter, coconut oil and 100% Pure essential oils that are safe for bathing and diluted to the proper ratio for their intended age group.

Our 1.5 oz Calm BOMB is about the size of a golf ball with just enough citric acid to keep the exciting fizzle without being harmful to your baby’s sensitive skin. A couple drops of essential oils are added to each batch so the bath bombs can have a nice calming effect without being overpowering.

*NOTE: No more than a 1.5 ounce bomb should be used while bathing your infant at a time. These are suitable for regular use. Not for use with sink baths or infant tubs. Use only under adult supervision.

Our Gentle BOMBs have the same amount of citric acid as our Calm BOMBs, but include a few extra drops of essential oils and come in one additional scent option. These bombs are safe for children over the age of 2 years, and come in three sizes, 1.5 oz, 3 oz, and 5 oz, just in case you have multiple little ones in the bath at once who each want to hold their own bath bomb!

*NOTE: No more than 5oz should be used in one bath at a time. Use only under adult supervision.

Our Scentsible BOMBs include an additional ingredient: Epsom Salt, and come in a variety of essential oil blends that are safe for ages 10 years and older! These are only available in a 5 oz. size which is about the size of a baseball. Several drops of essential oils are added to each batch so that you can take advantage of all the natural benefits each BOMB has to offer.

We don’t use any synthetic ingredients which means no added preservatives or solubilizers. Our bath bombs should be used within 6 months of receiving and must be stored in a cool, dark, and dry area. Because oils don’t mix with water without the presence of an added solubilizer, the oils from these bombs will float on the surface of the water. This is excellent for your skin, as the oils can be massaged in for a nice softening and hydrating effect! **Please use caution while exiting the bathing area, as the oils can cause wet surfaces to become slippery. The oils can easily and safely be washed down the drain with a little soap!

UTTERLY BUTTERY SOLID LOTION

As sufferers from very dry, cracked heels and dehydrated winter skin (we’ll chalk it up to our genetics) we’re constantly on the lookout for ultra hydrating skin solutions. A family favorite has always been a certain brand of body butter, but after the COVID-19 pandemic reached the U.S., epic savings deals became less frequent and practically impossible to find. Without such great sales, our go-to brand seemed just a little too expensive. After browsing Pinterest, a DIY lotion bar recipe was discovered!

Lotion bars are quickly becoming a popular trend for their ultra hydrating and safe ingredients, but not a lot of people have the right ingredients or the time to create them on their own. Buying the ingredients in bulk and making huge batches at once saves a lot of time, but without the use of synthetic preservatives, stocking up isn’t really a viable option. However, if the large batches are made, stored correctly, and made available to those who also love these hydrating bars, it’s actually quite affordable—so that’s what we decided to do!

Our recipe uses three types of hydrating butters: shea, sal/shorea, and cocoa; coconut oil: either refined to remove the strong coconut aroma, or organic and unrefined with its natural coconut scent; a bit of beeswax to help them keep their shape; and essential oils for fragrance (and maybe some natural benefits too). These are available as small heart shaped drops or in a square bar and come in a variety of scents, including unscented or coconut scented with no additional essential oils. We take care to only use essential oils that are topically safe and in the correct ratios to keep them from being irritating or phototoxic (aka sensitive to sunshine!) to your skin.

To use, just rub the bar between your hands to warm and soften the lotion. Then you can either rub the bar directly on dry skin patches, or use your hands to apply the lotion and massage into your skin. -We love to use it on our dry heels immediately after taking a shower or bath! It’s also great for dry hands (and lips) right before bed after a long day of hand washing, sanitizer, and mask wearing!- Since this formula is quite thick, it may leave your skin feeling a little greasy at first, but it should soak in after a couple minutes.

Since there are no preservatives in our recipe, we recommend keeping your Buttery lotion in an airtight container away from direct light and using it within six months of receiving. If you want to stock up, you can add an extra year by storing it in the freezer until ready to use. After this time period, it may start to lose its natural benefits and develop an “off” smell, but it is still safe for your skin.

Due to its melty Buttery nature, we also recommend storing it in a cool area so that its shape will remain. If you live in a warmer climate, keeping it in the fridge between uses can be helpful. If your lotion does melt, just mix it back up and set it in the fridge until solid again.
